The past 24 hours were quite the whirlwind! I finished work on Friday and then hopped on a plane to Spokane for the first every EWU Golf Reunion! This was only the third time I have been back on my campus since I graduated in 2004, and really the first time I have had a chance to see all the changes. Plus, I got to take a little trip down memory lane with the former players that attended. It was so fun getting to meet those that played before me, including someone who was on the men’s team in the 1960’s!
Getting to see this pine trees that line the campus and the rolling fields brought back so many memories, both good and bad. I’ve changed so much since then, but am still very much the introverted, somewhat awkward (ok, really awkward), highly competitive person I was back then.
As I continue to move forward in my competitive golf career, it’s nice to have these memories to look back on even though there were some really tough moments during those 4 years. Getting opportunities such as today where I can look from the outside back in and feel all the gratitude I have to have played college golf at Eastern is wonderful.
Go Eags!
