Today something pretty cool happened, I qualified for my 5th USGA Women’s Mid Am Championship! Despite a small anxiety attack on the 15th hole that lead to a triple bogey, I held on and did enough to earn a spot.
So what’s the best thing to do after a round of golf? Do a workout that nearly breaks you!
I took one of Jill Coleman’s Metconmonster workouts and changed it up a bit, but didn’t take away the sweat and mental battle!
Here is what it looked like:
Run 1/4 Mile
25 Jump Squats/25 Pushups
Run 1/4 Mile
50 Med Ball Slams
Run 1/4 Mile
25 Kettlebell Snatches each arm
Run 1/4 Mile

25 Jump Squats/25 Pushups
Run 1/4 Mile
Thankfully, you only run through this sequence once since that is enough to test you physically and mentally. I like to focus on my form with each move and feel the engagement of my glutes. Especially when it gets to the snatches, it’s so important to pick the appropriate weight that allows for 25 reps with clean form. And on the last run, I like to sprint the final stretch!
Thank you Jill Coleman for pushing me to a new level in my workouts and getting me to think outside the golf fitness box. I think I had been trapped in there for way too long and needed something fresh to take my fitness to a new level.
Goodnight……S
