I posted a video a few months ago of my progress on the pistol squat. This single exercise has been a goal of mine for years but I never made any progress until I changed my programming 8 months ago.
Tonight it started looking cleaner and I just about broke into tears. The beauty is that never at any point did I actually do this exercise while working to improve it. The biggest factor that played a role, consistency!! For 8 months I have trained 6 days a week varying between short duration/high intensity strength workouts and moderate intensity movement based workouts. Mixed in were also some cycling classes and hikes. Bottom line, the body is resilient and injuries do not have to define you!
Also, be patient. Results do not happen overnight but if you stick to it, magical things happen!
