Today was spent recharging and getting back to normal after a crazy week. But more importantly, it marked a new start for my sweet horse. Just a week ago I got back on her for the first time in a year, but today I put my actual saddle on and picked up a canter! This was a huge step for both of us as we begin to trust each other and slowly get back into riding shape. So tonight I go to sleep with a happy heart and a happy horse who has recovered from near death. We still have a long way to go, but I will appreciate every step along the road.
