Another Leg Day…

I guess you can say this is a Monday Rehab workout since I’m still on the mend and doing my best to figure out how to work around the burning sensation in my upper traps and neck.  Thank goodness my legs were feeling up for a challenge today and there are some great ways to add time under tension to the muscles in order to increase the intensity.  This is key on a week like this where I have to be careful about loading too much weight in my hands!

First:  Set a timer for 25 minutes, because you are going to cycle through this circuit as many times as you can in that duration.

Next:

  • 20 Air Squats
  • 5 Incline Pushups
  • 20 Kettlebell Swings
  • 5 Box Jumps
  • 20 Slow Mountain Climbers
  • 5 Kettlebell Cleans
  • 20 Walking 1 1/2 Lunges

I took my time on all of these making sure to keep my form perfect and the correct muscles engaged.  If it is one thing I have learned in the injury rehabilitation process, sitting on the sidelines gets you no where.  It’s important to get back out there and move. There are so many ways to work around an injury, and just ceasing activity will only lead to further problems.  Even without a neck injury going on, this is still a killer leg workout!  And you could easily add some dumbbells to the squats and walking lunges to make it more fun.

Enjoy!
